Sister Kathleen entered the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament with eleven other women. They left Ireland on February 23, 1949 and arrived in sunny Texas to begin a life of service to the Incarnate Word.

Sister's life has spanned many years and has taken her on many adventures in the service of the Lord, both in her prayer ministry and her years as an educator.

Sister Kathleen was an elementary school teacher for many years. She also served as principal in Port Arthur at St. James, and St. Theresa and Holy Name in Houston.

Sister also served in other forms of education, such as teaching English as a second language. Her greatest accomplishment, she feels, was helping young people complete their GED so that they could go on for higher education.

High on Sister's list is her prayer ministry. She is faithful to her daily holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament. She also remembers to pray for her former students, the sick and the suffering throughout the world.
